River Park Walks Make the Front Page!

The Argus Courier’s David Templeton joined us at the River Park to experience first-hand what we already know: there’s nothing like it for a downtown walk in nature with ever-changing flora and fauna, and ”nothing short of spectacular” views! The piece highlights the history, camaraderie, and beauty of the River Park’s weekly walks, and made the front page of the Community Section—how apropos!

“Look at this panorama,” said (Board Member Deborah) Smith, having led a few people out to the tip. “Until the community was finally given access to this through the River Park, almost no one got to see this amazing view of the downtown, and granaries, and the river.”

Come experience it for yourself—our weekly Tuesday River Park Walks and our new family-friendly Saturday Weekend Walks both meet at 9 am at Steamer Landing Parking Lot, 100 East D Street, for an easy, go-at-your-own-pace 1.4 mile round-trip stroll. Dogs on leashes are always welcome!
