Time Frame for Land Purchase

Petaluma River Park Foundation’s first and most urgent goal is to buy this land and ensure that it remains a publicly-accessible open space.

Right now, we need to move quickly to finish getting this stunning piece of land off the market.

We entered escrow on the property in April of 2019. We have put in $120,000 so far as a deposit. Now we need to either raise another $520,000 minimum before March of 2020 (to get a loan and keep the purchase in motion) or ideally raise $1,040,000 to complete the purchase so we can start restoring the land and building the park.

The park site inhabits 20 acres of the McNear Peninsula along the Petaluma River, just off D Street through Haystack Landing. The acreage is adjacent to the land where the Friends of the Petaluma River have their headquarters. We look forward to working closely with them. Petaluma River Park is near the SMART train station, several bus stops, and is within easy walking distance of downtown.
